Three male youth have been arrested and charged after a Peel Regional Police investigation into the reckless operation of dirt bikes in Brampton.
The charges are the result of Project Rogue Riders, an investigation launched by the 21 Division Community Intervention and Response Team (CIRT) in April 2026, according to Peel Regional Police.
Police said the project began in response to repeated complaints from the community about off-road vehicles being driven with disregard for public safety in residential neighbourhoods.
Dirt bikes driven on sidewalks and park pathways
According to Peel Regional Police, the off-road vehicles were observed riding on park pathways and sidewalks, failing to stop at stop signs and travelling at high speeds through neighbourhoods.
Investigators with the 21 Division CIRT were able to identify three male youth believed to be involved, police said.
On July 23, officers executed search warrants at two Brampton residences. Police seized six dirt bikes as evidence and arrested and charged three youth in connection with the investigation.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the young people charged cannot be released, and their names are protected under a general provision of the legislation.
Police ask for continued community help
Peel Regional Police are asking anyone with information about the investigation to contact the 21 Division CIRT at 905-453-2121, ext. 2100.
For Brampton residents, the charges signal a stepped-up enforcement response to a complaint that has drawn attention across the city's residential streets, where off-road vehicles on sidewalks and park pathways have posed risks to pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.
Police have released video footage related to the investigation on their website.
