Peel Regional Police can no longer publicly identify two young persons wanted in connection with a fatal Brampton shooting, after a judicial authorization allowing their identification expired Tuesday at 5 p.m.
According to Peel Regional Police, all content containing the names or photographs of the two youths must now be removed, and the information can no longer be published or broadcast.
Despite the expiry, detectives from the Homicide Bureau are continuing to seek information in the case.
What happened on July 5
Police were called to the area of Edenbrook Hill Drive and Earlsbridge Boulevard on Sunday, July 5, at approximately 3:40 p.m., after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Peel Regional Police said the victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to a trauma centre, where he later died of his injuries.
Suspects urged to surrender
Investigators continue to urge both suspects to seek legal counsel and turn themselves in to police.
Police are also warning members of the public that anyone found harbouring or assisting either suspect may be subject to criminal charges.
